My gratitude paragraph

April 23, 2008

I still do not get many things of the personal journeys that I have started with my closest friends, but I feel gratitude for their presence.
If I was to create a cocktail of characters that inspire me gratitude I could add, between many others, the following ingredients: feelings, worlds, passions, essences, joys, beliefs, dreams, emotions, struggles. Then, I could start adding dear names, and also, all those other meaningful names that we have read of heard about. And maybe all those other written names in memorials that we have not even listened about, but we believe in their existence. We could just mix and mix, and rejoice and rejoice in a letter soup, getting so many combinations.

I met Ricardo in different vocational transitional times and at the beginning of different learning process. With Ricardo, we started a trip together as Human Right Watchers. I still do not get many things of the personal journey that started in that trip, but as time passes I feel gratitude for Ricardo’s presence, for his hope and trust in ideals, for his relationships and for his dreams.

There’s a lot of genuine honesty in this piece Nan. Admitting what we don’t know and having the patience that over time things may or may not reveal is something to be grateful for. Could your blog be a place to share some thoughts as you reflect on your personal journeys?
